Conditions for a Saudi man to marry a resident woman born in Saudi Arabia, according to the Ministry of Interior

“Marriage to a resident born in Saudi Arabia,” the Saudi Ministry of Interior requires age conditions (for a Saudi 25-70 years, for a resident 18+ years), and that the citizen has not previously married a non-Saudi without an excuse, with the submission of documents such as IDs and residency, medical examination, proof of salary, and birth certificate of the newborn, with security approvals and documentation through the Emirate and the court, with confirmation that the resident must be Muslim and her residency is legal.

Basic conditions for approval:

  1. Saudi national's age: Not less than 25 years and not more than 70 years.
  2. Resident's age: Not less than 18 years.
  3. Marital status: The Saudi man must not have another wife, unless his current wife is proven to be incapacitated or too old by a medical report.
  4. Residence: The girl's residence must be legal and valid.
  5. Religion: The girl must be Muslim.
  6. Behavior: The Saudi citizen must have a good reputation and conduct (security clearance is required).

Required documents (for both parties):

  • For Saudis: a copy of the national identity card, proof of salary or bank statement.
  • For female residents: a copy of the residence permit and passport (if available), the original Saudi birth certificate, a certificate of non-marriage, and a medical examination.
  • For everyone: a certificate of good conduct, a medical report, and a divorce certificate or death certificate (if available).
